You might wonder as to why I have decided to upload them now on my blog? Well, the thing is, the chap you see in the 'MAGUS' paraglider (the one with a orange leading edge), is Nevil. Now,who the heck is 'Nevil',you might ask. In short he is the current holder of the Crosscountry distance world record in paragliding (500km !) - No kidding ! What is even more interesting: I, Nevil, Duncan and Gehardus are the only pilots who regulardly fly this site because its proximity to our homes. I am the 'weakest link' while Nevil is the 'Top Dog' , with the other 2 'in between'. As you can see from one of the pictures, Rondebosch is not ideal at all, with a difficult 'dirty' take off. Is not unusual to pull up your wing, at the site of the hill (does not really have a Take off per se), only to find out you have some twigs tangled in your lines. Of course, good ground handeling is a must and Duncan with his U3 (difficult wing to ground handle), will give 'a run for their money' to the 'ground acrobats' from the Ozone team. If you want to know more about paragliding in general and Nevil in particular, go to the Paragliding forum at www.paraglidingforum.com And yes,I have compiled and posted all this from my cell !Greetings,Mario :-)
